Engineering Change Notice

Most DC customers require a revision-controlled product. Management of changes for these products is handled through our Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process. This process ensures that we understand what customers want changed, and when and how to validate the changes. It drives the process internally at DC and ensures accurate execution of the change.

Customers that use “application-ready” standard product platforms and are not revision-control sensitive can also use the ECN process for tracking any changes that may occur over the life of the product.

An ECN results in an Engineering Change Order (ECO). Examples of items requiring an ECO:

  • Customer specifications
  • Development documents
  • Engineering documents
  • Quality documents
  • Manufacturing work instructions
  • Service requirements
