Corporate FAQs

Our company is not within DC’s target vertical markets; is there still a fit?

Dedicated Computing uses target vertical markets to ensure that standard product platforms are being developed with specific customer needs in mind. However, if your vertical market or business situation would benefit from a reliable, long-life and well-managed compute engine, there may still be a good fit between the two organizations.

We have a 6-month project that requires computers; is DC interested?

Dedicated Computing is an OEM manufacturer, and generally does not seek new customer engagements that are based solely on a one-time project.

We are looking for a Sun or Silicon Graphics solution; is DC interested?

Many existing DC customers have engaged with DC to migrate their platform from a Sun or SGI hardware platform to an Intel Architecture platform. DC specializes in these migrations, enabling the OEM to continue to support their legacy OS and application on hardware that is much less expensive and often much more reliable.

We don’t see a product on the DC website that meets our requirements; is there still a fit?

Likely yes. The products listed on the DC website are application-ready platforms designed to speed time-to-market for customers. However, over 60% of all products manufactured by DC are customer-specific, and therefore not listed on the website. DC’s business model is to provide OEMs with the exact platform needed to maximize customer value. That often requires modification of a standard product or development of a new product.

We have traditionally used Dell or HP products; what advantages are there to using a DC platform?

  • DC products are designed to meet the environmental and quality standards necessary for OEM environments.
  • DC products are designed to meet longer product lifecycle needs.
  • DC is exclusively focused on addressing the pain that OEM's and ISV's experience in incorporating commercially available technology in their end product. We are not distracted by the conflicting demands of consumers, IT departments or other end users.
  • If your company would not experience business benefits from a long-life, revision controlled and precisely customized product, then DC is probably not the right supplier for you.
